Security cameras have a wide variety of requirements that make the CW5631 System-on-Chip well suited to this application. From cameras with unique sensors and lenses and unique data delivery requirements, the CW5631 System-on-Chip can be programmed to handle any requirement.
The CW5631 System-on-Chip is particularly proficient at dewarping data from fish-eye lenses, but can also add value with programmability in the image pipeline software. The software can be adapted for value-added features like lense correction, luminance correction or depth-of-field algorithms. Data rates and resolutions can be varied and On Screen Display tagging can be added to the video with built-in special purpose hardware.
The CW5631 System-on-Chip can interface to any incoming ITU601 or ITU656 video stream but can also interface natively to most image sensors with it programmable timing generator front end. The chip can implement video codec for compression and offers a wide variety of output options including USB 2.0 OTG, Ethernet 10/000, composite video output, VGA video output, S-video output, component video output, and it can interface gluelessly to an HDMI transmitter device. Data can also be stored on a local IDE drive, Compact Flash or SD card with no additional components required.
